Onboarding

We highly suggest you fully complete our onboarding when getting started with Sturppy. It'll guide you through the major steps of building a financial model while teaching you how to use the tool.

Getting Started

After signing up with your email address you'll be prompted to create a new Project Name; most people use their company name here but you can name it however you'd like. The Project Name can always be changed under your Project settings at a later time.

Business Model

You can think of our "Business Models" as "Business Categories". We entirely understand that no two businesses are the same. Selecting a business model that most similarly fits your business helps us tailor the model building experience to your exact needs. It's critical to make a selection that matches your business because the structure of the financial model, and many business-specific assumptions and calculations, are based on it. Regardless of what you select here, you will still have unlimited flexibility to customize your model to meet your needs.

Sturppy currently supports the following business models / business categories:

  • SaaS

  • Mobile Apps

  • Ecommerce

  • Agencies & Consultancies

  • Marketplaces

  • Manufacturing

  • Other / Physical Stores

If your business type is not listed, selecting "Other" provides a blank template that you can customize to fit your business model. We provide a set of supported business models to make it easier for users to quickly get started, but with Sturppy you can create a financial model for any type of business.

Home Page

After creating your project you'll land on the Sturppy Home page. All new projects will see a page that tracks your progress through each of the major steps of building a financial model:

Completing each of these steps will ensure that you complete the big parts and have at the very least an outline of the model. Helpful resources and documentation help you make your way through the building process and can always be accessed on the right side of the home page. After completing each of the steps, the Home page will update and become a central dashboard showing the most important financial metrics in the current model version, and maintaining easy access to educational and support material:
